Island hopping in the Balearics
Having completed their first season in the Balearics in 2023, My Princess magazine caught up with the captain of the Princess X95 superyacht M/Y Torsa, at Port de Mallorca Marina in Palma. ‘We‘ve had an amazing summer cruising around Mallorca and hopping over to Ibiza and Menorca. The Princess X95 has performed exceptionally well, whilst providing all the home comforts and technical needs for the owner following a great retrofit with Princess Motor Yacht Sales in Turnchapel’, says Captain Gareth.
The owners enjoyed exploring the beautiful and diverse coastline, firstly heading west around to Cala Tuent just past Port de Soller. Portals Vells was deemed the loveliest part of Mallorca, a quaint little Spanish village with a sandy cove and caves, along with Cap de Formentor with its pine-backed beach and breathtaking views of the mountains. Mondrago National Park with its stunning beaches, aqua waters and wonderful wetlands, plus the archipelago of 19 islands that make up the Cabrera National Park was jaw-droppingly stunning. Taking in picturesque Cala D’Or and Puerto Christo on the south east coast, they then made the short hop from Porto Colom to Menorca to take a look at the sleepier of the three Balearic Islands.
And for that taste of the Maldives in the Med, Ibiza’s little sister island of Formentera, where the owners could enjoy swimming in tranquil turquoise waters that lap gently onto powder white sand on this unspoilt slice of paradise. This was truly a summer of island hopping in the Balearics at its best, whilst enjoying the benefits of a superyacht home-from-home and being able to continue to run their successful business from the exquisite Princess X95 superyacht. If you’re searching for work life balance, or should it be, life work balance, then this is it.
‘We’re new to yachting and decided to go for a large yacht thanks to the support and guidance of the brilliant team at Princess and we are absolutely loving it. The whole process from purchase to retrofit and delivery went really well with outstanding service from everyone. Due to the spacious layout and additional retrofit items, it’s a real home-from-home enabling us to work remotely with ease. This means we are able to spend more time on board enjoying our yacht and of course the glorious climate in the Mediterranean. It’s truly exceeded all of our expectations.’
